This week of Christmas

So it is new years eve, and I am not with a family or eating good food... Taco Bell had to do... and that after hiking up a super high mountain just to see some snow - you need to see snow at Christmas in America...

I have new pics up on my webpage http://picasaweb.google.com/franslight/Usa#
Scroll down to see the newest ones.

Hiking back in the dark down a steep hill with no flashlights was fun... Brandon and I started to talk about random stuff just to get our minds of the long dark trip... All safe and sound and back in society :) It was a great day :)

The past week has been passing quite well... doing a bit of homework... not too seriously... and watching the odd movie at night... The home is much quieter than usual, and it finally feels like holidays.

Yesterday we got a tree for free, from a tree lot at Bethel, because no one is buying trees anymore. We got the tree home, and then we had nothing to decorate it with. That was an odd feeling... usually we have boxes full of stuff to throw on a tree... So I took some of out outside Christmas lights for tree lights... and then found some party streamers (blue and white) in the party cupboard. I made an angel out of streamers... pretty impressive, and then made some ribbons... that does not look like ribbons... but its okay.

Later I just threw all the random small stuff that looks Christmassy I could find laying around the house on the tree... it kinda works... I also got pine cones today from the forest... they need to be sprayed... maybe I can find some spray paint somewhere :)

Otherwise there is just over a week of break left... so I have to capitalize :) Sleeping in till 10am has been good. It's going to be hard getting up at 7:30am again...

Tomorrow we are having a Christmas dinner with the Flack's (our landlords). I can't wait to eat good food, and have a sit down meal again... I loved thanksgiving, and I sure think I will enjoy Christmas dinner :)

O, and two days ago Peter and I went to Winco to buy some snacks for Peter's trip back home. Just before we checked out, a group of people (4) met us and told us they were on a treasure hunt :) Peter was wearing green, and that was the first clue that they got right the nigh. The prophecied over Peter, and encouraged him for his trip back home and the coming year. They also prophecied over me, and encouraged me about the year to come :) It is fun to have a city where treasure hunt are so common... The whole city know about them, and they actually love being the 'treasure' of a treasure hunt.

There are some crazy stories related to this, one being that a girl in the city had pain in her back. Her friends then took her to Walmart, and waited in from of Walmart for a treasure hunt group. Lo and behold, a few moments later a group approached them :) The guys told the treasure hunt group that they have been waiting for them to pray for the girl's back. The group prayed, and the girl got healed :)
